As an electrician at Iowa State University, I was part of a group of five student electricians who were charged with hanging, cabling, routing, and focusing all lights for up to three productions in Fisher Theater per semester. We worked with conventional lighting fixtures, like Source Fours and Incandescent Pars. We also worked with several different types of intelligent lighting, like ETC LoneStars and Robe LEDWash/Beams. We would also be charged with helping the carpentry shop with any and all rigging to the fly system in Fisher Theater. After every show, we would strike the grid and hang and focus the rep plot.
